Luisa Listens
Mental Health Practitioner

Luisa (they/them) is a queer Indigenous political refugee who grew up during El Salvador’s civil war on a coastal fabella on squatted land among peasants. Due to ethnic persecution, they got rehomed in Australia. They understand the deep psychological impact of displacement, trauma, and systemic injustice; thus, they support political refugees and migrants. In addition, they know first-hand the struggle of being neurodivergent and of experiencing mental illness in a different culture.. Luisa works from a neurodiversity-affirming lens that honours difference, supports emotional regulation, and empowers clients to harness their strengths. Luisa also specialises in counselling for LGBTQIA+ clients, offering safe, affirming, and deeply validating support for issues around gender identity, sexuality, relationships, and intersectional oppression.
